The Wolfe Family
We are a family of 4 – Simon & Yanil, Noah & Hannah
As a couple we met in YWAM Mendoza (Argentina) in early 2008, where we were both serving in the mission field.
Simon is originally from England, coming from Christian family which attended their local Baptist Church.
Following a period of time away from Church, Simon returned and joined the Oaks Community Church in Aylesbury.
In January 2008 he arrived in Argentina to commence his missions training by taking his YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Mendoza.
Yanil is originally from Argentina, also coming from a Christian family. She was raised, and later worked, in her local Baptist Church in the Province of Mendoza.
She also undertook her initial missions training in April 2007, when she took her DTS at the YWAM location in Mendoza.
We got married in late 2010, and continued to serve with YWAM Mendoza until late 2015.
Together we have taken the following second level YWAM training schools:
SoFBC – School of Foundations for Biblical Counselling
SoFM – School of Frontier Missions (Transcultural)
At the end of 2019 we completed 4 years of working and serving together in YWAM Holmsted Manor (England), where we have lead Discipleship Training Schools together with a focus on Africa, been collaborating in different practical areas of service, and within their existing ministries – including the homeless/rough sleepers in Brighton, Teaching different subjects in their training schools, leading improvement projects for the maintenance department, and varying seasonal events held in the Manor or grounds in which YWAM is located.
2020 has been a strange but special year, most notably because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, which allowed us to be part of YWAM Blantyre in Malawi for the first 6 months of this year whilst focusing on transitioning the family into Africa, and projecting ourselves toward the next stage in our full time calling to our “Promised Land” of Zimbabwe to help re-establish YWAM and pioneer a location as a centre for training, evangelism and mercy ministries within the City of Harare.
Simon has lead 9 DTS’s – 7 in YWAM Mendoza (Argentina) and 2 at YWAM Holmsted Manor (England).
Leading teams in transcultural outreaches to countries such as Hong Kong & China, Brasil, Spain, England, Honduras, Guatemala, South Africa, & Zimbabwe. As well as last minute mercy trips to the centre of the Chilean earthquake, & a family in need of help whilst they were visiting Mexico.
Yanil has lead 5 DTS’s – 3 in YWAM Mendoza (Argentina) and 2 in YWAM Holmsted Manor (England).
Again also leading teams in transcultural outreaches to countries such as Brasil, the whole of Central America, South Africa, & Zimbabwe.
In 2013 we lead our first DTS team around the whole of Zimbabwe on outreach as a family (Noah was 5 months old), and it was in that moment that God sealed His calling for this specific country in our hearts.
Since then we have either lead, or facilitated, teams on outreach to our “Promised Land” every year.
